My Story

Hi, I'm Danielle, and I'm glad you found my blog. Not too long ago, I was a pretty unhealthy young woman who hated the idea of exercise and loved fast food. Eventually I got smart and realized things needed to change. So, for my 2010 New Year's Resolution, I began on a journey to get fit and learn as much as I could about nutrition and exercise, and along the way I found an unlikely love for cooking and running.

I'm not an expert in either nutrition or exercise, but I know quite a bit about both by now. And I know how frustrating it can be to do the right thing when it isn't clear what the right thing even is. So I started this blog, in order to share my successes and failures with the world and hopefully inspire a few of you to make changes in your own lives.

I graduated from UW-Madison in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Social Welfare and a certificate in Gerontology. I've just returned to UW-Madison this fall to pursue Master of Public Health degree. In the future I plan to work in obesity and chronic disease prevention research and policy making.

I was born and raised in Madison, WI. I've been married since August 2009 and currently live in Middleton, WI with my husband Mike and my cat Roscoe. In my free time, I enjoy playing piano, creating jewelry, running, cycling, and going to ballet class.
